Bible is My Favorite Book

I was born to love reading books, I can imagine that I love spending in the library or sometimes I would like to go to the book store, reading any books on different topics, such as history, sports, social, politics, etc. What topics do I love reading? I love to read history, especially world history, the history of the United States, and Indonesian history, and Deaf studies. I love history because I am always curious about how my ancestors' life in the past years and how the events happened like the Indonesian Independence on 17 August, the Civil War in America, World War II, the Cold War, the American Revolution, G30S/PKI, Tragedy of May 1998, etc. I like Abraham Lincoln (who was leading the Civil War for four years and the role abolition of slavery), Martin Luther King Jr (who was leading the Civil Rights movement and the bus boycott in Alabama, United States, and also was one of the most inspirational speeches "I Have a Dream" in Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DC inspiring the freedom and the equality race), Helen Keller (who was a blind and Deaf woman to change the world by her amazing struggles), Soe Hok Gie (who was real Democrat and a Chinese Indonesian in the role of brave democracy in Indonesia), and RA Kartini (who was a brave woman to change the future Indonesian women who constrained by customs and patriarchy culture).

Then, I also like to read about Deaf studies because as a Deaf person so I need to know about who I am, what Deaf people face, what Deaf life problems, sign language, etc. But, I am most curious about Deaf Christians because that's really the least discussed and never found before. Then, what topics that I dislike reading about? Just politics because politics can be confusing and there are a lot of hypocrites. From different topics I love and dislike, but it doesn't mean anything to me. Why? Only Bible is my favorite book. Every morning, I would read Bible and write what He teaches me. For me, Bible is a living inspiration, God's guidance, and communication. I don't have a Bible actually although I have a Bible that is borrowed by Perkantas, Gejayan (students center is organized by GKJ (Javanese Christian Church) where I work remotely and was given by Pastor Katie. So, I wish will have my own Bible translation into English. Hermina wants to give me an Indonesian Bible because she has two Bibles but I feel not used to reading an Indonesian Bible and prefer to read an English Bible because English helps me to understand easier and easier read in American Sign Language (ASL). But, I would read an Indonesian Bible because I am an Indonesian and a BISINDO/ Indonesian Sign Language native. There are two verses about why you need to read Bible, which is Proverbs 30: 5 and Matthew 28: 19.

"Every word of God is flawless, He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him." Proverbs 30: 5

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28: 19

Proverbs 30: 5 can be a reason to read the Bible the share the gospel with people who do not know who Jesus Christ is (Matthew 28: 19). That's what regularly I do every day and every time. I do because I serve Christ and I love Him. Only Bible, that I love and my favorite. I would read Bible every day and never stop.

So, let's read Bible! Don't forget to pray first before reading Bible then share the gospel afterward.

May Jesus Bless you.
