I grew up profoundly Deaf and do not hear at all, but there is the only voice that I can hear. What that is? God's voice! How could be? Everyone would think that Deaf people would never be able to hear at all. That's probably incorrect, but some are corrected. Deaf means you don't hear any voice---small, medium, or high---at all. It feels may end the world because it looks bad.
However, being Deaf is a gift from God because I enjoy noisy conditions where hearing people can't survive and feel bothered and I can talk in signs while diving were hearing people can't speak. When we had lunch at Karen Chicken after worship, Hendro complained, "You are lucky because you are Deaf. I can't survive those children who are yelling loud at the playground. That's annoying!" I was like responded, "Praise God!" That makes me feel God has created me in His image. That's beautiful! I'm in His image and plans. I'm not sad about I was like a foreign person at that church and proud to be a Deaf person, a person which He has created in His image.
I'm Deaf but I can hear God's voice through my mind and feelings, what God speaks and wants. I follow and obey Him while I'm listening to what God speaks and wants because He is perfect. You can't against Him and you will never win against Him. So, I can't deny and can't against Him. In Christianity history, many people tried to against and remove Biblical but God always won and Christians still grew up and existed.
Sign language is a gift from God so I would be able to communicate with Him in signs. I can pray, praise, and talk to God in signs. Doesn't it beautiful? In Exodus 4: 10-17 NIV, Moses has speech low and needs help. God sent his brother, Aaron the Levite, who accompanies Moses so Moses can preach and He will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do.
"The Lord said to him, "Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." Exodus 4: 11-12.
Those verses meant that the Lord never fails what you have and He has plans for you. God created me to become Deaf because He wants me to be grateful and serve Christ in the Deaf Christian community by having writing, speaking, and leading abilities. I would have never wanted to be a hearing person.
In a conclusion, I'm Deaf but I can hear God's voice. If something does not come from God's will, I will not do it. For example, as kind of piece, you know that I hate the icebreakers so I was able to sit down in front of my friends to play the icebreakers but at the same time, I could hear, was like God encouraged me to join them, "Raka, you should join them and play with them. They are your best friend and they love you. I will help you." I ended up joining them and one of some people who helped me with signing and typing. I was like God helped me by sending caring friends to help me.
2 Samuel 9: 3-8 have shown that God makes people have different will be able to sit down on the brotherhood. God will never separate people by different but God unites them as human beings that He has created.
"The king asked, "Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God's kindness?" Ziba answered the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan. He is lame in both feet." Where is he?" the king asked. Ziba answered, "He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar." So, King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel." 2 Samuel 9: 3-5.
King David wanted to invite a man who is lame in both feet to show God's kindness but he lives separately so King David ordered to have him to eat at the same table. King David is a good example of uniting people by different and showing God's kindness.
No matter whether you are Deaf or hearing, we can hear God's voice! We are on the same mission, to the glory of Christ.
Hallelujah! Praise God, I can hear God's voice! Thank you, Lord!
